The Center is even producing educational programming for users and supporters through a project called “Sovereign Living”.

The launch party will be the first time the board and members will be able to connect with the community, and Executive Director John Bush said, “this project is something every family should look into, regardless of your level of knowledge on ways to live naturally and more healthy. This is definitely a family focused event and organization.”

The event will take place on May 4th from 5pm to 8pm at Irie Bean Coffee on S. Lamar Blvd. A live stream of the event will also be provided for supporters who are far away. Aside from being just what every community needs, this venture to educate others on health, sustainability and family provides a much needed foundation for each individual to learn and explore alternative ways of providing for themselves. The current economic state in our country may not be able to provide us with all that we need for long. This event will stress the importance of diligence and knowledge amongst food and family. These two things are almost synonymous!

So please join The Center for Natural Living on May 4th from 5-8pm at Irie Bean Coffee House on South Lamar Blvd (or online). Bring the whole family or a group of friends. You’ll meet great people, share in an enriching experience, and help further the goals of Austin’s Center for Natural Living as they prepare to take their ambitions to the moon and back.

See you there! Oh…and come hungry!

Sustainable and Autonomous Communities Initiative

The Sustainable and Autonomous Communities Initiative (SACI) is a project of the Center for Natural Living which aims to further the proliferation of sustainable and autonomous communities.

SACI will accomplish this by engaging in the following three activities:

1. Studying past and existing sustainable and/or autonomous communities
2. Educating the public about the value of sustainable and autonomous communities
3. Building and helping others to build sustainable and autonomous communities

Of the many values a community of people can adhere to, we believe sustainability and autonomy to be of the upmost importance.

What is a sustainable community??

Sustainable communities are associations of like minded individuals and families living cooperatively in the same general geographic area who are self sufficient and live in a manner in balance with the ecosystems that surround them.

What does it mean for a community to be autonomous?

Autonomous communities are groups of individuals and families that are able to practice self-determination and are not subjected to non-consensual authorities of any kind.

Our long term goal is clear – a sustainable world full of autonomous communities living in peaceful co-existence.

Will you join us?

Safe Water Initiative

safe-water-banner

The Safe Water Initiative is a Center for Natural Living project in partnership with Fluoride Free Austin. The goal of the initiative is to educate the public about the dangers associated with consuming fluoride while equipping families in need with tools they can use to avoid giving their infants and children fluoridated water.

Water Filters

The Center for Natural Living is looking for families interested in avoiding fluoridated water for their children who are not able to afford the tools necessary to remove fluoride from their drinking water. In 2013, the Center for Natural Living will be donating at least 100 fluoride water filters to families in need. We are working to raise money to purchase these filters so donate to day to support the effort. A $50 donation helps one family avoid giving their children fluoridated water.

If you are a family with children who wants to avoid fluoridated water for their children and cannot afford a fluoride water filter, please click on the image to the left below.

For this year, we are only accepting applicants from the Austin area. We hope to expand the Safe Water Initiative to other areas so stay tuned.
